THE APPLEVIEW RIVERWALK
Announcing the installment of The Little Pigeon River and the Appleview Riverwalk is a centerpiece at Appleview River Resort. In fact, it's the reason this piece of land was chosen as the site for East Tennessee's finest resort community and vacation destination.
Starting as a clean, cold mountain stream in the peaks of the Great Smoky Mountains, just under the Appalachian Trail and Newfound Gap, the Little Pigeon River flows west. Through the Chimney Tops trail and past the Sugarlands Visitor Center, the river flows alongside the towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Soon after, the water forms a natural peninsula around a select piece of property known as Appleview River Resort.
Here, along the banks of this clean mountain river, you will discover the Riverwalk at Appleview River Resort. This meandering trail follows the natural landscape of the bank as you walk past beautiful gardens full of native Appalachian plants & wildlife. Sit back and relax in a park bench as river otters and water fowl go about their daily routine. Catch a colorful sunset as the fireflies come out to light your way through the night. Relax and enjoy this peaceful, one-of-a-kind sanctuary, all the while knowing that your room is only a few steps away!

LIGHT UP THE NIGHT
Guests and residents can enjoy evening strolls along the Little Pigeon River under the soft glow of old-fashioned gas street lamps.
These are the first of many additions to the Riverwalk at Appleview Resort. Additional gas lamps will soon line the entire peninsula, and planning has begun on the construction of an outdoor, waterside pavilion and outdoor fireplace gathering area.
Come enjoy an evening stroll along the Riverwalk and take in the soothing sounds of nature at Appleview River Resort in Pigeon Forge, TN.

FISHING Fly fishing in the Smokies is a great opportunity to relax, unwind and enjoy some quality time with your friends, family or yourself. At Appleview River Resort in the Great Smoky Mountains, you have easy access to the Little Pigeon River, which makes an early morning cast seem like the perfect way to start the day. Simply grab your gear, head out the back door and you're there.
In addition to rainbow and brown trout, guests of Appleview River resort will also enjoy fishing for bass, brim and catfish on the river, and children can practice their skills in the kiddy pond, scheduled for completion in 2008.

ON THE MOVE
The Riverwalk is the perfect place to go on your early morning run or afternoon walk. There are also plans to join our Riverwalk with 2 miles of hiking trails on property adjacent to Appleview, so that guests have the option of a leisurely stroll by the river or a more intense workout in the hills.
