7. Fishing in the Little Pigeon River
Bring your fishing poles and favorite lures and throw out a line. With smallmouth bass, trout, and other fish, you are sure to have a great time with friends and family trying to make the perfect cast and catch the big one. 6. Taking a stroll along the River Walk
Couples and families will love a leisurely stroll on our scenic trail along the river! With lots of wildlife, fish, and the soothing sound of the Little Pigeon River, walking along and taking in the beauty God has created is inspiring and a relaxing way to spend an early morning or afternoon.
5. A little friendly competition in our game room
Our game room offers plenty of opportunities to challenge friends and family to a little friendly competition. With a pool table for a little 9-ball action, air hockey with an electronic score board (to keep everyone honest), Foosball for those who really want to get serious, and even a multi-cade arcade with all the classic games from Pacman and Centipede to Galaga, DigDug, and Donkey Kong. Setting a new high score might be just the challenge you need to secure your family's game room dominance!
4. Bible reading and prayer on the quiet Clubhouse porch
Grab the Good Book or your daily devotional and head on down the covered porch at the Clubhouse to enjoy some quiet time reading, meditating, and praying, all while enjoying the soothing sounds of the river and nature all around. Sometimes, a little quiet time with the Lord is just what we need to get us in vacation mode. If you need some inspiration, we encourage you to read Romans 12:2; this is the Appleview River Resort “memory verse” and a verse of scripture that we try to live by daily.
3. Working up a sweat in our Fitness Center
Our Fitness Center has everything you need to keep up your fitness regimen while staying with us at the Appleview River Resort. With two treadmills, two elliptical machines, an exercise bike, free weights, abdominal, pull-up and dip equipment, bench press machine, free weight bench press, lateral pull-down machine, butterfly machine, dumbbells, leg press, and much more. You will not have a problem working up a sweat! After your workout, enjoy a few minutes in our sauna!
2. Enjoying a dip in our pool or a soak in the hot tub
During the spring, summer, and fall pool season, enjoy a little R & R poolside at the Appleview River Resort pool. Catch some rays in one of the many chaise lounges, bring your kids' favorite pool toys, and splash a little in the pool. We even have a one-and-a-half-foot kiddie pool for even the littlest guests. Once you’ve had your fill of the pool, take a dip in the private hot tub, a great way to wind down from a day of hiking, shopping, or playing in the Smoky Mountains.
1. Floating down the river on a tube
Bring a tube from home or stop by the office for a loaner tube and head on down to the Little Pigeon River for a float trip like no other. You can tube around our peninsula to the Apple Barn, which is about a 90-minute float trip and only a short walk back to the resort. As you float along, you are bound to see all types of wildlife, and one unique part of this floating adventure is the soundtrack. That’s right, soundtrack! As you float along, you will pass behind The Titanic Museum; they play wonderful music in the parking lot, which becomes your very own soundtrack. No other tubing adventure offers its own musical melodies, and don’t forget to take a dip in the swimming hole along the way!
